FAQs
Do you provide bedding and towels?
Yes – all bed linen and towels are provided for your stay, so there’s no need to bring your own.
Each cabin is fully equipped with bedding, towels, kitchen essentials and everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. Beds will be made up before your arrival, allowing you to relax and settle in as soon as you arrive.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, our cabins are now dog friendly! We happily welcome responsible owners and ask they clean up after them to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone. Please do not leave them unattended onsite. We have a general rule of two dogs permitted in each cabin, this is for comfort and space, however for smaller breeds more than 2 is fine.
Do dogs need to be kept on a lead?
As Coastal Cabins is a shared site, we ask that dogs are kept on a lead in communal areas and around other guests. However, we understand that many dogs enjoy a little more freedom while on holiday. If your dog is friendly, well-behaved and responds reliably to recall, we’re generally happy for them to be off lead, provided they remain under close control and are respectful of other guests.
Please remember that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. Some guests may have nervous dogs of their own, while others may be travelling with young children or simply prefer not to have unfamiliar dogs approach them. We therefore ask all owners to be considerate of those around them.
Likewise, if you or a member of your group is nervous around dogs, or if you have a dog that would prefer some extra space, please let us know before or during your stay and we’ll do our best to make other guests aware.
How far are shops and restaurants from the cabins?
The cabins are located less than 2 miles from our local village of Hartland. Here you will find a post office, local shop, 3 pubs all serving fantastic pub lunches and dinner and a small Cafe. We are also just a short walk from Pattard Restaurant, a stunning fine dining experience serving fresh, local dishes.
For bigger shops, the Atlantic Village shopping outlet is a 15 minute drive towards Bideford. Here there is a Lidl, Aldi and an Asda, alongside an outlet centre with many clothing stores to top up on any hiking gear you may need! There are also large supermarkets in Bude.
What’s the check-in time?
Check-in is from 4pm and Check-out is by 10am. If you’d like to arrive earlier or check-out later, please get in touch with us to confirm availability for your request.
What’s the minimum number of nights?
We have a 2-night minimum stay in all our lodges. However, during quieter periods or last-minute bookings, we can sometimes offer 1 night stays, please get in touch with us directly for this.
Do you accept groups?
Absolutely! Whether it’s a family getaway, hen weekend, or special celebration, we’re happy to accommodate groups. Contact us at info@coastal-cabins.com, and we’ll help you plan your perfect group getaway.
Are you open all year round?
Yes! We’re open all year, and winter is actually our favourite time. Cosy up in the BBQ hut and enjoy the Wild Spa hot tub! Just a heads-up: snowy or icy roads may require a 4×4 in winter.
How are the cabins heated?
Our cabins are heated by a lovely electric fireplace that keeps things toasty and warm. It’s perfect for those chilly evenings!
Can I add an extra bed?
Unfortunately, we can’t add extra beds – we’ve found it’s just not comfortable. Our cabins are designed for up to 4 people, but we do allow cots.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
We don’t offer Wi-Fi, but we have great 4G reception, so you can stay connected if needed.

Yes, we require a 25% deposit when booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before your arrival. For more details, check our T&Cs.
Is there parking?
Yes! We have a car park next to the site, and we provide wheelbarrows to help transport your luggage to your cabin.
Tell me about the Fishing Lake.
What fish are in the lake and do I need a licence?
Our on-site lake is free for guests to enjoy during their stay and offers a peaceful spot to relax, whether you’re a keen angler or simply fancy a quiet hour by the water.
The lake is home to a healthy population of golden tench, with some fish reaching impressive sizes, and there are also believed to be perch present. As this is a private lake located entirely within Coastal Cabins, a rod licence is not required for guests fishing on site.
Do you provide equipment and bait?
At the moment we don’t, but we do have plans for this in the near future so watch this space! in the meantime you’re welcome to bring your own tackle and bait. We find most traditional tench methods work well, including sweetcorn, worms, pellets and light feeder or float tactics. Groundbait can be used in moderation, but please avoid excessive baiting as we aim to maintain good water quality for both the fish and surrounding wildlife.
We ask that all fish are handled carefully and returned promptly, and that children are supervised near the water at all times and that anglers treat the lake and surrounding wildlife with respect so everyone can continue to enjoy it for years to come.
We’re here to help with any additional questions – just ask!
